Social media contributing significantly to growth of European firms

A report by branding agency Millward Brown found that high-growth European companies are making the greatest use of social tools, with 81 percent of these companies reporting these tools have significantly impacted growth. According to another study, the Second Annual Burson-Marsteller Global Social Media Check-Up, 83 percent of European Fortune 100 companies are strategically using Twitter, higher than their global counterparts elsewhere, and 84 percent of European companies have some overall social media strategy.

Currently, the NAID-Europe Conference Committee is planning at least one session about social media for the joint NAID/PRISM/ARMA conference this November. The sessions will discuss social media basics, strategy and content as they relate to secure data destruction sales and marketing. In addition, the committee will rely heavily on social media to provide information about the conference. Conference updates, new programs and industry developments will be announced on NAID’s social media sites before they appear in NAIDDirect and NAIDnews. Members are encouraged to follow NAID on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
