New name means new perspective for European conference

Effective this year, NAID, PRISM International and ARMA International changed the name of their annual joint conference to the “European Information Management Conference.”

Hosting a joint conference over the last four years made sense for NAID and PRISM on many levels. Both groups represent information management service providers and both groups had limited success in holding separate conferences in the region. And, the experiment seems to have worked. The event has experienced higher attendance and more educational opportunities.

Last year, ARMA International joined the partnership. Unlike NAID and PRISM that represent data management vendors, ARMA represents practitioners. Therefore, this added a level of complexity to positioning the event.

“This name change effectively begins a new chapter for the event. One that will make it more attractive to a potentially much bigger audience,” said NAID-Europe Chairperson Yarom Ophir. “Our research showed that there is currently no pan-European conference serving the needs of records managers. This event will fill that void.”

The 2012 European Information Management Conference will be held 5-7 Nov. in Brussels. The event’s website will be live in late August.
