NAID to present new research at 2013 ANZ conference

This fall, NAID-ANZ will commission two research projects with the intention of releasing the results at the association’s 2013 conference in February 2013.

The first research project is modeled after the successful Disposal Habits Studies previously conducted in Toronto, Madrid and London. The aim of the study will be to provide a statistical profile of the amount of confidential information being casually discarded in data-sensitive business sectors. The second research project, a first for any NAID region, will investigate the amount of sensitive data on computer hard drives being sold in the second-hand market. While similar studies have been conducted by other organizations in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., this project marks the first of its kind in Australia.

The results of both studies will be released at a press conference held in conjunction with the NAID-ANZ conference on 19 Feb. 2013. Full details regarding the event will be posted in October.
