NAID-ANZ study stirs renewed interest by publications

Four months after the NAID-ANZ Disposal Habits Study was commissioned and three months after the results were released, new publications have taken an interest in the study. As previously reported in the study, 11% of commercial trash bins in the Sydney metropolitan area contained personal confidential information. During Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) April 28-May 4, NAID-ANZ distributed a press release to remind financial, medical, legal, and government agencies to properly and securely destroy their confidential information in observance of PAW and in the wake of the study results.

Recently, high profile publications like Chief Security Officer (CSO) magazine and Computerworld magazine cited the study results and warned consumers to be aware of who and how their confidential information is being handled.
