New brochure promotes qualifications of CSDS accreditation

12 June 2014

The NAID CSDS Board of Regents has approved a brochure that defines what it means to have achieved Certified Secure Destruction Specialist (CSDS) accreditation. The brochure explains the advantages of working with a secure destruction professional who has demonstrated a high level of competency in data protection legislation, information and risk management, destruction operations and industry standards.

“We have a growing number of examples of the CSDS being recognized in the marketplace,” said NAID CEO Bob Johnson. “For instance, I just learned of a major contract with a large metropolitan government where the client ultimately made the decision on the number of CSDS professionals the service provider had on staff.”

The CSDS training curriculum will be updated during the summer months, according to Johnson. Training will begin again in October followed by a series of examinations available across the country. To learn more about the program, visit
