DISCARDED MEDICAL RECORDS LEAD TO INVESTIGATION

According to a report by Amanda Hernandez posted to the website of Las Vegas, NV-based, KLAS-TV on January 28th, police are investigating how dozens of boxes filled with patient's records ended up in an apartment complex dumpster.

The boxes, which were packed with hundreds of folders containing the personal and health information of thousands of people, have been taken into police custody as evidence. According to the article, under Nevada law, these records should have been properly destroyed.

The doctor connected to the records is at a loss as to how this happened and even the nature of the records. The incident is currently under investigation by authorities.
