OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL PROMISES ACTION IN DISCARDED RECORDS CASE
 
According to a report by Tom Meyer posted on February 22nd to the website of Cleveland, OH-based Channel 3, confidential files containing information on hundreds of people who applied for loans with Union Mortgage were found in the trash.

Ohio Attorney General, Marc Dann (pictured), whose office recently sued another mortgage company for allegedly abandoning customers' loan and financial information, says he would take action against Union Mortgage if customers came forward and filed complaints with his office. The Ohio AG said businesses that collect personal information are responsible for protecting it just like they would protect their own information.
