NAID-Canada Appointed to Fraud Prevention Forum

NAID-Canada is now a partner in the Fraud Prevention Forum.  The Forum is made up of private sector firms, consumer and volunteer groups, government agencies and law enforcement organizations committed to fighting fraud aimed at consumers and businesses.  The Forum is chaired by the Competition Bureau and works to prevent Canadians from becoming victims of fraud by educating them on how to recognize it, report it and stop it.

This is a natural area for NAID-Canada to partner since so much of the Association’s advocacy work is focused on protecting individuals and businesses from unnecessary privacy and security breaches by ensuring information is safely destroyed at the end of its lifecycle.

As a partner, NAID-Canada will raise awareness about the month of March being Fraud Prevention Month. All NAID-Canada members are encouraged to remind their customers, and their own employees, about the dangers of fraud.
