ARTICLE HIGHLIGHTS PREVALENCE OF CASUAL DISPOSAL
 
According to an article by Joan Goodchild posted on March 18, 2009 to CSOonline, at least one business intelligence professional continues to have no trouble finding the most confidential personal information in bank dumpsters.
 
The article quotes Steve Hunt of Hunt Business Intelligence saying "[T]here are so many physical security aspects to data protection it ought to never be considered merely an IT security issue,"
 
And to prove that point, the article chronicles the ease with which he is able to find wire transfer information, copies of checks, bank account summaries, account transaction histories and personal financial statements waiting, unprotected in open dumpsters, for anyone interested enough to look.
