RECONSTRUCTED SHREDS LEAD TO TASMANIAN SCANDAL
 
An article by Sue Neales appearing on April 9th on the website of The Mercury, a Tasmania newspaper, reports that a reconstructed shredded document contradicting the testimony of the Tasmanian Premier has resulted in calls for his resignation.
 
The Premier had said that claims he recommended a friend to a judicial posting were "pure fantasy.” The opposition party, which published the original claim, has now produced the recommendation signed by the Premier which it taped together from discarded shreds.
