MORE COMPLIANCE TOOLKIT ORIENTATION OPPORTUNITIES
At present, 226 NAID Member representatives have completed the orientation required to obtain the NAID Information Destruction Policy Compliance Toolkit. As a result, their organizations are prepared to capitalize on the publicity campaign promoting the availability of the Toolkit
Starting this month, NAID will issue a press release nationally, announcing the availability of the Toolkit. The release will explain that the Toolkit is designed to help organizations create an information destruction policy, including forms, and further explain how and why these policies are now required.
The recent FTC settlement with an Illinois mortgage firm and the Texas Attorney General’s fining of CVS Pharmacies cited the lack of written destruction policies as the partial basis in determining the violations.
NAID has now announced it will offer three more opportunities for NAID Member representatives to attend the orientation required to obtain the Toolkit. The orientation will be offered via webinars that will be held on Tuesday, May 6 at 12:00pm EST, Thursday, May 8th at 12:00pm EST, and Tuesday, May 13th at 12:00pm. NAID Members from outside the United States are also encouraged to attend since the Toolkit has applicability in almost every developed nation.
Those wishing to attend one of the Toolkit orientation sessions must register in advance. There is a $30 fee to attend which includes a complete copy of the Toolkit, Certificate of Completion, and local support materials to promote the Toolkit’s availability.
