NAID : News : Think Tank Says EU Protection Directive Needs Overhaul

A study commissioned by the UK Information Commissioner Richard Thomas and conducted by well-known think tank RAND-Europe suggests, among other things, that the 15-year-old EU Data Protection Directive needs to change its priority from the processes related to data collection and retention to one of protecting people’s personal information. The study also recommends increased enforcement authority for regulators.
