CONFIDENTIAL STUDENT RECORDS DUMPED IN CHICAGO

A report of confidential, sealed records being casually discarded and abandoned in a town near Chicago appeared on the website of WGN-TV.  According to the report by Erin Mendez and Sean Leidigh posted on May 30th, the person who discovered the records said the dumpster was complete filled by the discarded files.   The files themselves contained social security numbers, SAT scores and a slew of taped envelopes, with the words "to be opened only by the psychologist."

According to the report, the records were taken into police custody (pictured), pending an investigation.  The agency responsible for the records reportedly had no idea how the records came to be discarded in such an inappropriate manner.

The incident was prominently covered by Chicago-land media.
