STUDENT’S CONFIDENTIAL RECORDS DISCARDED IN RECYCLING BINS

According to an article in the Daily Light by Joann Livingston on August 10, 2007, confidential student records were discarded into unsecured containers accessible to the public. The incident happened at the local high school in Waxahachie, TX.

The records identified student’s grades, test scores, and class ranking and other personal information that is regarded as highly confidential.

The Daily Light was evidently notified of the confidentiality breach by concerned citizens. The newspaper then notified the school’s principal of the school.
