ARMY RECORDS IMPROPERLY DISCARDED

A report from the Associated Press on August 21st claims that boxes of documents containing personal information from the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research that were supposed to be shredded, ended up last week in a trash bin.

The police were notified when a local resident discovered the records and saw that the information was confidential. The records were supposed to be shredded by a Walter Reed research division employee.

No foul play is suspected and no charges were filed. Police said they do not believe anyone had access to the information other than the person who found the records and called authorities.
