STATE REQUIRING PROMPT MED TO APPEAR AT HEARING ABOUT DUMPED RECORDS
WFMY News 2 – Greensboro, North Carolina

September 23, 2009- As a follow-up to a story covered in previous editions of NAIDDirect, the State Attorney General in North Carolina is requiring the attorney for Prompt Med—a local hospital responsible for hundreds of records found along the street and in dumpsters—to appear at a hearing. A spokesman for the Attorney General’s office stated that improperly disposing of documents containing social security numbers is a crime. NAIDDirect will continue to follow this story in future issues.
