The 2009 Awards Committee announced that this year’s Member of the Year was Vlad Vasak of Iron Mountain Secure Shredding.

In making the presentation, NAID President Tom Simpson said of Vlad’s involvement over the last year, that besides “completing the most recent of many terms on the NAID Board,” he also served in “the challenging role of chairman of the NAID Complaint Resolution Council” and “participated in the both the Public Relations Committee and the Certification Rules Committee, two of the Association’s most vital and active committees.”

Simpson concluded his remarks by stating that beyond all these contributions, Vasak’s “industry knowledge and sound judgment have been routinely sought, and generously given, over the last year, as NAID navigated the uncharted waters of its rapid growth.”

This is the first time Vasak has received the Member of the Year, however, he was presented the Association’s highest honor, the President’s Award, in 2006.
