Excitement Builds for the NAID-Canada Seminar in November

Registrations for the 2008 NAID-Canada Risk Management and Compliance Seminar have begun streaming in and all indications are that attendance will reach an all time high. The discounted advanced registration deadline is October 17. The NAID-Canada Seminar is aimed at business and government organizations that use destruction services. It will be held at The Sutton Place Hotel November 10, 2008 in Toronto.

There is little doubt that among the reasons for the high level of interest in the event is the appearance of Elizabeth Denham, the Assistant Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Ms. Denham’s Keynote Presentation is titled "New Challenges in Protecting Personal Information". She will provide both a perspective and the proposed model for breach notification under PIPEDA. Most organizations are aware of the need to take information protection far more seriously when notification requirements are put in place.

In addition, the appearance of Ken Clupp of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has spurred the interest of organizations required to meet government destruction specifications. Ken will explain government information destruction requirements some of which apply to the private sector.

The second day of the event is set aside for NAID-Canada members and features an agenda of industry-related topics.

The NAID-Canada Conference Schedule and all necessary Registration Forms are available on the NAID-Canada website.

NAID-Canada Members are also invited to exhibit in the Solutions Expo and currently there are some Sponsorship Opportunities available.
