The integrity of original and official documents is a major issue now that modern printing techniques can easily and inexpensively reproduce an exact replica. However, in the very near future it may not be so easy, thanks to a new technology that uses a type of nanotechnology to embed invisible metadata information with a digital security and encryption algorithms directly on paper.

At the upcoming PRISM Int’l/NAID-Europe Conference, Mr. Miroslav Sirl will present the session "Trustworthy Copies" during which he will describe how this new technology works and how it can be used to drastically improve the security of original documents.

Mr. Sirl, who served eight years as the Director of Archive Department of Journalists, is currently a business consultant in the field of Record Management and Digital Preservation and a member of the board of Czech Digital Preservation Society.

The PRISM Int’l/NAID-Europe Conference will be held from 8 – 10 September 2008 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Budapest, Hungary. Advanced Registration and Hotel Overnight Reservations are required to attend the event.

Attendees to the event will be able to choose from a wide range of Records Management Topics and Data Destruction Topics over the course of the conference.
