Compliance Toolkit Public Release Slated for June

Bookmark and Share

NAID is in the final stages of preparing for the public release of its new Information Destruction Compliance Toolkit. The 76-page Toolkit is designed to assist clients and prospects in creating written Information Destruction Policies. Such written policies are mandated by GLB, HIPPA, FACTA, a host of state laws, and the upcoming SEC Disposal Requirement, however, most organizations still do not have them. The lack of such policies has been material to a number of high profile and costly fines and settlements over the last several months.

Once all qualified NAID Members have the Toolkit in hand, the initial public release of the Toolkit will come in three forms; 1) press releases, 2) advertising and 3) on the NAID website.

The press releases, which will announce the availability of the Toolkit, will run in 7 industry publications, reaching a combined estimated audience of approximately 200,000 records managers, legal administrators, hospital administrators, privacy officials and security directors.

NAID will substitute the current print advertising copy with new ads announcing the availability of the Toolkit. Click here to see a draft of the new Toolkit advertisement.

Finally, NAID will host a search engine on the home page of its website that will list all those who are authorized to distribute the Toolkit by having completed the required orientation. To date, about 300 NAID Member representatives have taken advantage of one of the seven orientation sessions the Association has offered.
