Suspected Drug Use Leads to Arrests of ID Theft Ring

The Associated Press reported on January 30th that Sherman, TX authorities, checking out a complaint about marijuana use at a local motel, uncovered an identity and financial information theft ring in possession of personal information belonging to thousands of people. 

The report states that four laptop computers were discovered in the motel room, as well as a high quality color printer, several briefcases and a filing cabinet. 

The article goes on to report that among the personal information found were comprehensive files of individuals, including IRS tax information, banking information, credit reports and other financial information. 

Reportedly, there was so much information, that other agencies were brought in to help in sorting through the evidence.
