NAID-Canada Adds High-Level Keynote Speaker

Planners of the 2008 NAID-Canada Conference are proud to announce the addition of Dr. Mark Vale as the event’s keynote presenter.  Dr. Vale is the Chief Information and Privacy Officer for the Province of Ontario’s Office of the Ontario Minister of Government and Consumer Services. 

Dr. Vale was appointed the Ontario government’s Chief Information and Privacy Officer in July 2006. Mark leads the development and implementation of information management strategies that support sound business practices, build capacity across the government and make access to information and privacy fundamental business considerations. 

Mark is an information economist and has more than 25 years experience in information policy, information strategy and planning and implementing corporate information and knowledge management programs. He is one of North America’s leaders in shaping the information and knowledge management disciplines and has taught at the University of Alberta, York University, Stanford University and California State University. 

Dr. Vale received his MA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and his PhD in Information Economics from Stanford University. 

The 2008 NAID-Canada Conference will be held on February 14, 2008 at The Sutton Place Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
