California Amends Notification Law

An article posted to the website Mondaq.com on December 4th, reports that California lawmakers have approved legislation that would amend the state's first-in-the-nation security breach notification law. The law was recently signed recently by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and will take effect on January 1st. The amendment adds two new categories of information to the definition of personal information; medical information and health insurance information.
