Article Sees Trend in Mortgage Files Being Dumped

Bookmark and Share

An article by Michael Hudson appearing in the October 23rd edition of the Wall Street Journal describes what is starting to look like an epidemic of companies casually discarding mortgage records, which, in turn, is putting a lot of people at risk for identity theft.

Most of the incidents referenced in the article have been reported in past issues of NAIDDirect, but the article does a good job of recognizing this as a trend, hinting that it may actually have something to do with the economic downturn in the real estate and mortgage lending industries.
