Bookmark and Share

As has been previously announced, a NAID contingency has been tapped by ASTM International to develop safety standards specifically designed for the information destruction industry. The group, officially called "Mobile and Plant-based Security Destruction Equipment Safety Requirements Committee," held its first meeting on November 1st in Tampa, FL, in conjunction with ASTM’s semi annual committee week. It is ranked as a subcommittee under ASTM International’s E34 Committee, which is responsible for Occupational Health and Safety.

There will be an opportunity for all interested NAID Members to provide input prior to the adoption of the standards. At this point, it is anticipated that the subcommittee will meet again in conjunction with the 2008 NAID Annual Conference.
