Canadian Privacy Commissioner Releases Poll Results

An article appearing on InterGovWorld.com reports that the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada has released the results of the most recent Annual Report on the Privacy Act. The survey was conducted by EKOS Research Associates and indicates that Canadians believe that their data is not as secure as it was a decade ago.

Jennifer Stoddart, the Privacy Commissioner, released a statement suggesting that the Privacy Act is due for an overhaul.The law, which applies to the public sector, was originally passed in 1982.
