BBB & NAID Agree on National Shred Day Alliance

Bookmark and Share

It has been a long time coming, but NAID and the Council of Better Business Bureaus (BBB) have agreed and committed to move forward to jointly sponsor two National Shred Days.

While free shredding to consumers will be the leading promotional feature of the initiative, they will be billed as a forum to convey a range of information protection issues, including computer disposal, internet security and other personal information protection initiatives.

The groups have agreed that there will be two events; one in April of 2008 and another in the autumn. If the events are successful, both organizations intend to stage the events on a regular basis.

The BBB has committed to using the full weight of its public relations network and brand name to the success of the event. In addition, a wide range of second tier sponsors are being invited to support the event, which will take place across the country.

NAID Members should not contact their local BBB office about this event. All communications are to be routed through the organizations national headquarters.

In the mean time, NAID encourages its members to continue with any plans they may have to host their own shred-day promotions.
