This year’s NAID-Europe Conference planners are proud to announce that the United Kingdom’s Deputy Information Commissioner David Smith has been added to the already impressive list of speakers slated to appear at the annual event.

In his role as Deputy Commissioner, Smith leads the Regulatory Action Division which uses the Commissioner’s powers to regulate the behavior of organizations and individuals that collect, use and keep personal information, with focus on ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act of 1998. His responsibilities recently put him at the center of the investigation and subsequent sanctions related to the disposal practices of many of Britain’s top financial institutions.

Other speakers already scheduled to appear include Richard Reese, CEO of Iron Mountain, and Tom Adams of RIMproMarketing. In addition, Georg Freundorfer, Director of Security for Oracle Deutschland GmbH, and Juergen Kempf of Director of Security for Tech Data Corporation will appear in a session titled "What Security Directors Want from Their Data Destruction Service." And, Mr. Siegfried Schmedler, Board Member of Reisswolf International, will participate in a discussion on the state of the secure destruction industry across Europe.

Full details on the event, to be held September 10th -12th in Paris, France, will be posted soon to the NAID Website. This year, the NAID-Europe Conference is being co-sponsored by PRISM International.
