Jayhawk Named Existing Business of the Year in Kansas

NAID Member-company, Jayhawk File Express, LLC, a Topeka, KS, full-service information management firm, was named by the Kansas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) as one of the top five Existing Businesses of the Year.

According to a release issued by the company, Jayhawk File Express was recognized for their entrepreneurship, innovation and contribution to the growth of Kansas businesses. Bob Featherston, Jayhawk File Express CEO, accepted the award at a March ceremony at the State Capitol in Topeka, Kansas. Those attending the ceremony included Dr. Edmond Hammond, President of Fort Hayes State University, Wally Kearns, KSBDC state director and several state legislators.

"We are very committed to furthering the cause of small business in Kansas," said Featherston. "The KU SBDC has been a great resource for us as we experience record growth. It’s an added benefit that we received statewide recognition for our achievements. We would encourage any small business to take advantage of what the Centers have to offer," Featherston added.

Jayhawk File Express was nominated by the University of Kansas Small Business Development Center located in Lawrence, Kansas. Fifteen total awards were given out at the ceremony; five for Existing Business of the Year and ten for Emerging Business of the Year.

Kansas Small Business Development Center network was founded in 1983 and has consulted more than 80,000 clients throughout the state of Kansas.
