E-Recycling and Other New Initiatives at 2007 NAID Conference

Not only will the 2007 NAID Annual Conference host over 30 educational sessions and a world-class trade exposition, but it will also serve as the launch pad for several exciting, new industry programs and initiatives.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s point man on e-Disposal, Robert Tonetti, will report on the culmination of a long project to identify the best management practices (BMPs) in e-Recycling. These BMPs will very likely make their way into an unspecified certification program for e-Scrap operations.

Mr. Tonetti’s presentation titled "Where is the EPA Today on Computer Disposal and e-Recycling" will be held on Thursday, April 12th from 4:45pm to 5:45pm.

The Compliance Toolkit is among the most anticipated initiatives to be launched at the 2007 NAID Conference. A product of what NAID learned in the 2006 Consumer Attitudes Survey, the Compliance Toolkit will serve as a sales tool capitalizing on the fact that companies with written destruction policies (a legal requirement) are far more likely to outsource their information destruction needs. NAID Executive Director Bob Johnson will conduct an orientation and training session related to the Compliance Toolkit and the "Regulatory Compliant Policy Template" that is included within the kit. That session is slated for Friday, April 13th from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

The NAID-WISE Health Insurance website is another exciting member benefit that will be rolled-out at this year’s Annual NAID Conference. Bruce Sletten of Willis Insurance will be on hand to demonstrate how this NAID Member benefit tool can be used to better manage healthcare costs, as well as to give employees group health care options that do not require the involvement of the employer. This website and associated benefits will be accessible to NAID Members only.

The orientation and training on the use of the NAID-WISE Health Insurance website titled "Buying Healthcare Benefits the WISE Way" will be held on Thursday, April 12th from 10:00am to 10:45am.
