2007 NAID-Canada Conference Adds to Growing Success

Bookmark and Share

A record number attended NAID-Canada’s Annual Conference, adding to a growing list of accomplishments for the young association.

Approximately 120 participants, mostly consumers looking for information on proper information destruction, packed the meeting room and exhibition area. NAID Members, exhibiting to these highly qualified leads, were doing all they could to keep up with the overflow crowd.

This success follows only one week after NAID-Canada fulfilled an invitation from Canada’s Privacy Commissioner and her staff to brief them on the information destruction industry and provide recommendations for effective legislation.

And, on the heels of the successful conference, NAID-Canada will testify before the parliamentary committee of the House of Commons that is reviewing PIPEDA, the nation’s privacy law.

The success and recognition NAID-Canada has achieved in only its 4th year of existence is a sign of the growing importance of information protection, and the recognition by policymakers that information destruction is one of the areas of most concern.
