Free Professional Advice Available to NAID Members

Bookmark and Share

NAID Members are now able to get answers to legal, legislative, insurance, environmental, accounting or other questions that specifically relate to the secure destruction industry – free of charge. If the question qualifies as an industry-specific issue and the issue could be of interest to all members, NAID will seek whatever professional council is required to answer the question properly.

Any NAID Member who actually submits a qualified question will get the professional response to their query as soon as possible provided they agree to accept the answer as advice and not legal council. NAID management is charged with determining what questions qualify as having applicability to the industry or are otherwise worth exploring.

As it deems fit, NAID will reserve the right to publish the findings of any such inquiry in one of its periodicals or to otherwise make the response available to all members. The identity of the NAID Member making the inquiry will be kept in strict confidence at all times.

Issues explored in the past include finding child pornography in collected materials, the applicability of SAS 70 audits to the secure destruction industry, the legalities of defending service contracts, mold as a health hazard in damp paper, and more recently, how to react to potential blood borne pathogens found in destroyed materials.
