As Security Rule Deadline Approaches, AMA Says many covered Entities Still Not Compliant

Bookmark and Share

According to an article titled, Medical records security: HIPAA's 3rd deadline not a charm," which appeared in the email bulletin of the American Medical Association (AMA), many physicians won't be ready by the April 20 deadline for the security rule, and some are still working to comply with the earlier privacy rule and transaction rule.

As HIPAA covered entities near the compliance deadline for the HIPAA Security Rule, it creates a wonderful opportunity to concentrate on that vertical market. NAID expects demand for the NAID-HIPAA SMALL COVERED ENTITY Brochure created for that same group to increase substantially.
