National Health Information Privacy & Security Week

Bookmark and Share

The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) is sponsoring National Health Information Privacy & Security Week from April 10 – 16, 2005. AHIMA has over 50,000 members, most of whom are responsible for information management at large medical institutions.

AHIMA Members are being encouraged to hold educational and training seminars related to information protection for their employees involved in hospital administration in conjunction with the event.

What a great opportunity to reach out to local hospitals to offer free training on document destruction; or maybe even offer a "Lunch and Learn" session on information destruction for upper records management hospital staff.

In June, an article by NAID Executive Director Bob Johnson will appear in the Journal of AHIMA on the topic of the "Certificate of Destruction."
