NAID Exec Appointed to British Standards Committee

Bookmark and Share

NAID Executive Director Bob Johnson has been appointed to the committee within the British Standards Institute (BSI) that is developing the standards and practices for secure shredding companies operating in the United Kingdom.

The appointment is a result of Johnson’s participation, at the BSI’s invitation, in the initial discussions on the need for such a standard.

While the first meeting focused on a review of the standards and practices already adopted by the British Security Industry Association, the next meeting in May will delve into more detail.

One of the major goals of NAID’s involvement in any such talks is to coordinate an element of consistency between the standards used around the world. And, with NAID’s growing membership in both the U.K. and the whole of Europe, it is important to represent members’ interests there as well.
