ASIS Int'l Working on Information Protection Guidelines

Bookmark and Share

ASIS International (formerly the American Society for Industrial Security) has formed a special ad hoc committee to develop comprehensive guidelines aimed at providing general advice for businesses regarding information protection. Topics will include the classification of information, storage and transmission, contractor selection, and destruction among others. It will also deal with information on all media, including hard copy and electronic.

NAID Executive Director Bob Johnson has been selected to serve on Information Protection Guidelines Committee (IPGC), which consists of 16 select representatives from three ASIS Councils concerned with information protection. Johnson currently serves on the ASIS Safeguarding Proprietary Information Council. The IPGC expects to complete its work in the next couple of months.
