NAID had arranged for Peter Klein to speak at NAID 2011 before he was a big star…well, before he won the 2010 EMMY for Best New Investigative Report anyway.

Mr. Klein is the author, director, and producer whose documentary on the fate of computers and hard drives exported to third world counties aired across North America on PBS’s Frontline and changed the way regulators, policymakers and business decision makers look at electronics exports.

In his presentation at NAID 2011, Klein will discuss some details of the environmental and data protection horror story his investigation uncovered that go beyond what was shown on television, as well as his  conclusions and firsthand impressions of systems in place to stop it from happening.

Klein’s presentation, “AFTERLIFE: What You Don’t Want to Know about Improper Computer Disposal but Should” will be given on Sunday, March 20th at 9:00 AM.  The NAID 2011 Annual Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida from March 18th-20th.
