Exciting New Speakers to Round out Closing Conference Session

NAID has added two more heavy hitting speakers to its upcoming conference line up.

After considering many options for assigning presenters to the final general session, NAID has found two, both of which are widely considered to be among the foremost authorities in the country on HIPAA and HITECH.

Kirk J Nahra, an attorney at the Washington, D.C. firm Wiley & Rein and the editor of Privacy Advisor (the monthly journal of the IAPP), will join Robert M. Tennant, MA, Senior Policy Advisor at the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), Washington, DC, to co-present at the session titled “Hospitals' Perspective on HITECH and Business Associate Selection Requirements.”

According to NAID CEO Bob Johnson, “The MGMA is THE trusted source of HIPAA information for doctors’ offices, and no one understands how HIPAA/HITECH affects those offices better than Rob Tennant.   And, in addition to representing the privacy interests of a number of hospital groups, Kirk Nahra is a recognized and well-respected HIPAA and privacy authority.” Johnson concludes, “After all, you don’t become the editor of the IAPP’s Privacy Advisor by accident.”

Johnson also promises a “bombshell” from these presenters related to ARRA/HITECH stimulus funding being tied to data protection policies and training, both of which are significant aspects of NAID’s new marketing approach to doctors and dentists offices.

“Hospitals' Perspective on HITECH and Business Associate Selection Requirements” is scheduled at 1:30 PM EST on Sunday March 20th and is the final session of the 2011 NAID Conference and Expo.
