NAID is proud to announce that asset management firms Maxxum, Inc. (Rush City, MN) and USM-e (Chicago, IL) have been awarded NAID AAA Certification for Sanitization Operations, placing them among a select group of other IT asset management companies having achieved this high distinction.

“While more people are familiar with NAID AAA Certification for Physical Destruction, currently held by close to 800 secure disposition facilities, the data security certification for IT asset management firms is showing signs of similar momentum,” stated NAID CEO Bob Johnson. “We have another 6 sanitization operations with audits pending, are in advanced discussions with that many more organizations that are seriously considering it.”

The NAID executive also stated that the growth and acceptance of NAID Certification around the world is based on “its focus and rigor, NAID’s recognized preeminence and credibility in the area of data protection, and the fact that it is considerably less expensive than other types of certifications.”

“NAID’s only focus is data protection. We take it very seriously, and we are not shy about talking about it,” says Johnson.

The NAID CEO also reports that service provider qualifications will be a big part of his upcoming presentations at ARMA-Chicago Seminar in March, the IAPP Canadian Conference in May, and a host of other high-profile presentations being scheduled throughout the remainder of 2011.

The five other asset management firms already NAID AAA Certified for Sanitization Operations are Asset Recovery Corporation (St. Paul, MN), EPC's E-Scrap Processing Center (Earth City, MO),LifeSpan Technology Recycling (Denver, CO), Supply-Chain Services, Inc. (SSI) (Lombard, IL), and WeRecycle! LLC (Wallingford, CT).

The number of companies holding the designation is expected to more than double in 2011.
