In order to facilitate the growth and professionalism of the NAID Certified Secure Destruction Specialist (CSDS) Accreditation Program, the association’s Board of Directors has created the CSDS Board of Regents. According to its charter, the Board of Regents is responsible for the following:

  • Develop, oversee, update, and approve CSDS training curriculum, training, examination, and continuing education opportunities
  • Develop, oversee and approve recognition of the CSDS program as well as the promotion and recognition of individuals who have attained the accreditation in the marketplace
  • Oversee the protection and enforcement of the CSDS federally registered trademark status

In addition, the Board of Regents will “retain the services from suitable outside advisors to review, provide input, or publicly comment on CSDS issues or program features.” When fully vetted, the Board of Regents will have seven CSDS accredited industry professionals, including the chairperson. The NAID Board has appointed former NAID President Tim Oberst of Ohio Mobile Shredding as the first CSDS Board of Regents chair.

“Tim was among the first class of CSDS graduates and has demonstrated a remarkable level of dedication to NAID and effectiveness as a leader over the years,” said NAID President Scott Fasken.
