'False Sense of Security' video released

“A False Sense of Security,” the sales video dispelling the myth that office shredding machines provide security, is on its way to those who ordered it at the 2012 NAID Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif.

“At the conference, we received some suggestions for improving the video,” said NAID CEO Bob Johnson. “Then, after it was edited, the Public Relations Committee wrestled with a couple of tough decisions on how to distribute it.”

In the end, the NAID Public Relations Committee decided to stay with the original plan of restricting distribution to those who attended the conference.

“This video was originally offered as a promotional give-a-way for this year’s conference attendance,” said Public Relations Committee Chair Dave Surdyk. “While we were tempted to make the video available publicly as we did with the NAID Certification video, ultimately we had no choice but to stay with our commitment.”

As a compromise, the video will be free and posted to NAIDTV in September 2013, one year from its original release. In the meantime, NAID member companies not represented at the conference may purchase the rights to use it by submitting a completed licensing agreement. A short excerpt from "A False Sense of Security" is available on NAIDTV.
