Upcoming NAID Appearances Spreads Message on the Importance of Training and Vendor Qualifications

“NAID is definitely taking it to the streets,” according to CEO Bob Johnson.

“I traditionally make 3 or 4 appearances at major buying-group events in any one year,” says Johnson. “We’re planning to double or triple that number for the next few years, as well as substantially increase the number of featured articles appearing in buying group journals.”

It is all part of NAID’s strategy for educating current and potential customers on the importance of vendor qualifications and employee training.  “The goal is to drive customers to NAID members who are prepared to best meet their needs,” says Johnson.

“Educating members is also an important part of the overall strategy,” continues Johnson.  “They need to be ready to get calls from customers who have been educated by our outreach.”

In May, Johnson will speak at a symposium of the International Association of Privacy Professionals in Toronto, Canada, followed later in the month at the International Electronics Recycling Conference in Las Vegas.

Johnson also reports that in addition to aggressively seeking speaking opportunities, his personal goal is to publish at least 4 featured articles over the next year in periodicals aimed at traditional secure destruction decision makers.

Johnson says NAID is also considering offering FREE Webinars to buying group members as another educational strategy.
