HHS Training Schedule for States’ Attorneys General Announced

March 10, 2011- In a move that signals the upcoming increased enforcement of HITECH/HIPAA, Attorneys General from across the country, as well as their staffs, will attend enforcement training conducted by the Health and Human Services, Office of Civil Rights (OCR)—the government division charged with enforcing the law.

The training will help ensure "that state attorneys general will be better prepared to carry out their new authority under the HITECH Act in enforcing HIPAA," OCR Deputy Director Susan McAndrew said.
