Regional NAID chapters prepare for Privacy Awareness Week

Bookmark and Share

While the United States, European Union and Canada celebrate Privacy Day on January 28 each year, a consortium of Pacific RIM privacy authorities known as the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities forum declared the entire first week of May as Privacy Awareness Week (PAW). This year that runs from April 28 to May 4.

Both NAID-ANZ and NAID-Asia are prepared to issue press releases in recognition of the event including reference to key research in the area of privacy and data disposal conducted over the past years. Within the last few months, NAID-ANZ added to this body of work by releasing its Australian Information Disposal Habits Study. The release was widely publicized throughout the region. The forthcoming release in recognition of PAW, allows the issue to be raised again, this time on a larger scale.
