Following the association’s social media pages is not only a great way to stay up on secure destruction news; it’s also a great way to gain a perspective on how your colleagues are reacting to it.

Whether it’s an article on improper disposal, an announcement about NAID initiatives, or member news, it invariably appears first on NAID’s LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter feeds. And, unlike other places readers can get news, these feeds provide the added dimension of democratic commentary from a broad range of industry participants, including NAID members, policymakers and customers of destruction service providers.

“It’s one thing to get a link to an article,” said Kristina Carlberg, the association’s Director of Communications. “It’s a much different thing to see readers’ reactions or ethical discussions unfold in real time. Take a few minutes out of your day to participate. It’s amazing the things you can learn from other people in NAID’s social networks.”
