NAID CEO Bob Johnson has accepted an invitation to speak at the 2011 Privacy Academy held by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in Dallas, TX.  Over 1,000 data protection and privacy compliance professionals from many of the world’s most high profile and highly regulated organizations are expected to attend the annual event.

While the invitation comes on the heels of Bob’s recent presentation at the IAPP Canadian Symposium, the invitation to speak at the Privacy Academy in Dallas came about as the result of diligent campaigning by NAID member-representative Mark Romankiw of America Shredding (Newark, CA).

“The fact the IAPP has put data destruction on the agenda at both of its North American events is sign of its growing significance,” Johnson says.  “The fact they are turning to NAID as the subject matter experts is also significant.”

As previously announced, NAID has made its stated mission to embark on a deliberate, aggressive plan to promote outsourcing to properly qualifying data destruction services, through the use of strategically placed educational articles, production of white papers and speaking engagements.

Johnson will also speak at the end of this month at the International Electronic Recycling Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.
