Among the recent projects approved by the NAID Board of Directors is a series of videos promoting the association’s certification program.

“The current video explaining the NAID certification program has proven extremely popular and useful,” said Eric Hass, chair of the NAID Certification Rule Committee. “The problem is that it was created before recent enhancements to the program that dramatically increase its value to customers.”

Such enhancements include aligning the certification standards with new regulatory vendor selection requirements and offering a free certification monitoring service to clients. The board also felt the video did not adequately represent the programs applicability to electronic data destruction. As currently envisioned, NAID will produce a series of short videos that focus on the programs ability to satisfy clients’ regulatory compliance requirements and the importance of its unique audit methodology. Other videos will focus exclusively on the program’s physical destruction standards and electronic destruction standards. Shorter, segmented videos will allow clients to hone in on areas of interest. The project is slate for release in the first quarter of 2015.
