Sept. 11, 2014

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of John Wagner on Sept. 10, the founder and owner of Allegheny Shredders and a pioneer in the information destruction industry.

John founded Allegheny more than 45 years ago. In 1971, he introduced the first high capacity shredder in the industry – a 15 Hp – paving the way for increasingly powerful machines and large-scale equipment solutions. His engineering talent, leadership skills and enthusiasm for providing the customer with the best product catapulted Allegheny into one of the largest and most respected providers of commercial shredding equipment worldwide. John was instrumental in virtually every major development in the industry.

John was a man of enthusiasm, humor and big thinking. As all who knew him will attest, John was   devoted to his family, his employees, his customers and his country. He will be sorely missed and never replaced. On behalf of all NAID members and staff, our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and colleagues.
