The Deputy Executive Director for the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), Ray Barry, will step down from his position on July 31 to pursue a sales job in the secure destruction industry.

According to NAID CEO Bob Johnson, Barry’s departure is amicable and the association wishes him well in his new position.

“We loved having Ray on our team and he will be sorely missed,” said Johnson. “But we also understand that his first love is sales and this new opportunity offers him rewards not available in the non-profit arena.”

“It was a heart-wrenching decision,” said Barry. “Having now been part of the NAID team, I have even more respect and admiration for everyone at NAID and for their dedication to members. I’ll continue to be the association’s biggest cheerleader.”

As to the fate of the Shred School program, Johnson said it will be business as usual, including Barry’s continued involvement.

“We’re delighted Ray made a commitment to NAID and Shred School attendees to see this through,” said Johnson. “Other Shred School sponsors will also have an opportunity to provide content and attendees will continue to get great value from their participation.”

Barry’s new position is with long-time NAID associate member company Vecoplan, LLC.
