Next week the summer 2015 edition of NAIDnews will be released online. Members will receive printed copies at the end of August.

This edition tackles many issues that secure destruction industry professionals face each day. Many of these issues—such as whether to host a free shred day for local community or use certificates of destruction—have been debated for years. Whether free shred days are beneficial to a business has been a hotly discussed topic since mobile shredding trucks became available. NAID CEO Bob Johnson explains the pros and cons of secure destruction service providers participating in or hosting free shred days in their communities. Johnson also revisits an old NAIDnews article about the almighty certificate of destruction and how it has evolved in the last decade. NAID Director of Events and Programs Jamie Hughes announces plans for the next annual conference and explains why it is important for all industry professionals to attend. Kristina Carlberg, NAID’s Director of Communications, spoke to former NAID board member John Anderson about his new committee, the Certification Advocacy Committee, and his plans for supporting and educating members on the NAID AAA Certification Program. Lastly, Johnson describes why it is important for industry professionals to be perceived as experts and how the CSDS accreditation can help.

“NAIDnews gives us the unique chance to explore the challenges our members deal with daily in much more depth,” said Carlberg.
